Wooden Baskets

Planting orchids in wooden baskets is an interesting and visually appealing way of cultivating your plants. Stanhopea, Acineta and some other species have downward growing panicles, and therefore need to be cultivated in a grid pot or wooden basket. In order to keep the plants from unnecessary repotting stress, the baskets should be made from long-lasting wood. Soft wood are not very suitable.

The wooden baskets are made of long-lasting tropical wood. The material is according to the manufacturer from plantation wood, and chemically untreated. Own tests have found very good root growth on the baskets. For hanging we recommend the stainless steel hanger with 4 arms, 35cm or 50cm long.

At the moment we can offer 6 different series of wood baskets:

SERIES PREMIUM
The wood baskets are very clean processed and additionally glued, only selected chopsticks are polished smooth, the round corners complete the elegant impression.

SERIES CHILE
These baskets are not, like the others made of teak, but made of the wood of Nothofagus. This wood is extremely hard, which speaks for a very long life. The wood is roughly sanded and cleanly processed.

SERIES 1
Simple Thai baskets made of teak, square and tall. Perfect for Stanhopea, Gongora and many more. The deviations from the specified sizes can be up to 5mm.

SERIES 2
Simple Thai baskets made of teak, square and flat. Perfect for Ascocentrum, Ascocenda, Rhynchostylis, Vanda, Aerides, Neofinetia and their hybrids. Again, deviations in the size of 5mm are possible.

SERIES 3
Octagonal Thai baskets of teak, shapely, high. Perfect for Stanhopea, Gongora and many more. The deviations from the specified sizes can be up to 5mm.

SERIES 4
Octagonal Thai baskets made of teak, shapely, low. Perfect for Ascocentrum, Ascocenda, Rhynchostylis, Vanda, Aerides, Neofinetia and their hybrids. Again, deviations in the size of 5mm are possible.

Please note: The baskets are handcrafted and therefore unique, made in Thailand, therefore, small deviations from the specified dimensions are possible. Color deviations from the pictures are very likely, as well as the wood is changing the colour due to light. In case of strong deviations we inform you before the dispatch.
